EGG 2008
By Ruth Meszaros

Each year the White House holds a display of eggs decorated to
represent the 50 states plus the District of Columbia. This Egg
Gallery is usually available for viewing on the White House website,
and the collection is usually on display at the White House Visitors
Center for several weeks around Easter time. The display then becomes
part of the White House permanent collection or is placed in a presidential
library.
Each state has a committee to choose the egg to represent their state for the year. This year the Wisconsin Poultry and Egg Industries Association chose Ruth to make the egg for 2008. The result is shown on these pages in detail, with explanations of the images applied to the egg.
As of February 2008 Ruth has not yet heard when the 2008 Egg Gallery
will be on display or where it will be housed on a permanent basis.
